A pictorial gardening report from near Coventry

A big thanks to Mike & Julia from outside Coventry for some snaps from their great garden. As before we are going to let Julia’s brilliant pictures do the talking, and there’s some wonderful stuff here as ever. As Mike said in his email “Things are happening in our garden”. They certainly are!

Cheers for sending these pictures over and may your garden carry on looking great for the rest of this year!

STOP PRESS: Julia has just come back with the plants featured in order as in the blog post. Thanks Julia!

Allium
Salvia – hot lips
Alstroemeria
Geums with wallflowers in front
Geums with a lupin type bush which I have never seen before and am not quite sure what it is
I think it’s a penstemon
Yellow poppies and geranium

When it’s spring again, I’ll bring again, Tulips from Warwick-shire

Thanks to Mike & Julia for these great pictures (it’s Mike taking the photographs this time) from a Tulip Festival in Warwick the weekend just gone. We know there’s many festivals dedicated to the Tulipa genus in places like Holland (even though their origins are native to central Asia, as they thrive in extreme hot summers and harsh, cold winters) but we’ve never thought they’d be one in Warwick. By the looks of these varieties, looks like it was a good day. Cheers for the photos Mike!

And we knew there was a variety called John Peel, we’d never thought they’d be one called Rasta Parrot, but there is!

That garden’s looking good!

Thanks to Mike and Julia from near Coventry for getting in touch with some super spring pictures taken by Julia and the garden looks thriving. We’re not going to put any captions underneath the images but let the camera work do the talking. If you need any names of plants etc we’ll get in touch for a run down. Wonderful stuff both and they really get us in the mood for the garden year.

It’s frosty up north (or will be soon)

Cheers to Mike & Julia from just outside the fair city of Coventry for letting us know that the frost covers are out and fine looking ones they are too.

It’s been a bit funny when it comes to weather here in SE23. We had a frost the other week and then last weekend it was quite mild. I’m sure we seen some blossom on a couple of trees in the week too, it’s so crazy is this current weather. Cheers for the picture and we look forward to more of your great photographs next year!

More Midlands garden news

Thanks to Mike & Julia for sending some updated pics from their garden near Coventry. This time it’s cerise coloured sweet peas and pink poppies which were spurred into action with a bit of overnight midlands rain. They plants look like they loved those night showers.

And below are another few pictures from their Crete holiday. Cheers again for the ace pictures, Mike and Julia!
