Music to drive any frosts away

Here’s two great tunes for a Tuesday evening to drive any chance of the frost away.
The first is a lovely middle eastern-inspired mix of an Adrian Sherwood live track. It’s a wonderful piece of instrumental reggae called Sinnervisions from the great Spy From Cairo who makes some brilliant music that we have featured before and this one is really up there! More about his stuff here.
And from 2015 from Blackboard Revision we have Blackboard Horns from Lee Scratch Perry, Danny Boyle and Danny Red. Wonderful horns with some fantastic bass!
And here’s another track or two from each of the artists for good measure!
Tunes for a Thursday
Through all of the researching of the Abedare Rockers cassette a few great gems have come to the surface like this excellent track from Debra Keese and Black Five with Travelling produced by Scratch The Upsetter. And you want the toast, here it is! Top tunes galore!
What, sunshine on a Wednesday?
Just researching a forthcoming shortwave mix and we’ve just found this great tune from a long time ago from Groove Corporation called Worst Dressed Chicken which is very nice and one to play loads when it’s sunny. A very clever title by the way.
Rock the musical (and gardening) atmosphere

As heard on today’s Rhythm Doctor’s Waiting Room on IDA Radio (Tallinn) (from 8am-11am UK time every Monday) here’s a well chilled and dubby classic from a few years ago and very much a favourite here!
Also a related tune from the great Lee Perry (RIP) also heard on the same show a few weeks previously. Tunes!
And while we’re there, let’s not forget this one…
‘ere? ‘ave you seen me Solstice?

Happy Solstice to one and all! Think of today as “The beginning of winter’s death” (Den Ming Dao, 365 Tao #355 Winter) rather than the grey, drizzly day stuck in lockdown again, the Monday before Christmas 2020 it really is.
We are presently keeping ourselves amused by watching the replay of the Stonehenge Winter Solstice stream here on youtube where at the moment there’s a bunch of security guards in high visibility vests congregating in the upper right hand corner either having their own celebration or standing around a calor gas heater.
Big shout to all our gardening and music mates worldwide and remember, from today the days will be getting longer and the sunny days are on their way (well we can dream can’t we?)
Competition results
The winner of the Vertical rodent of the week goes to this squirrel seen on the side of Weeds HQ the other day. What you can’t see are the two cats on the pavement below. Gladly the squirrel made it away safely! #squirrelonaveritcaltip
And the winner of the ambient dub track of the week is Adam Prescott with his track Schism (Lion Charge Records). Lovely heavy dub with strange noises that have the touch of the Lee Perry’s about them. Can’t say fairer than that!
