And then there were six

At the start of November we received some egyptian/walking onion bulblets (here) and we put them in a pot as soon as we got them off the postman. We paid for one and got some spares in the pack just in case they didn’t take and look, we’ve got 6 starting to sprout now. How is that for a good deal? They were only a few quid as well. Cheers to Real Seeds for these.

And tonight we’ve been listening to the recent show from our mate Will J on Love Will Save The Day FM called Lingua Franca. If you like some great chilled worldwide vibes you’ll love this show. There’s some brilliant stuff on here from all points across this circular world of ours. Give it a listen.

It features this wonderful tune, which we’ve never heard before:

And cheers to Will for telling us about this clip of a performance in 1970 which is out of this world! Talk about fast talking style. We have watched this many times in a row tonight and now questioning our own sanity.

Let’s get cool in the pool

Here’s a lovely chilled-out balearic mix from a long time friend Will J, who actually introduced us to the exellent Echo Chamber radio show on KFAI many many moons ago we remember (Dr Strangedub of said show’s raised beds were the feature of last post funnily enough!)

Reminiscent of those old C90’s from Jose Padilla and the balearic bailiff himself Phil Mison, the hour’s tape includes some excellent tracks including this one:

It’s a mix well worth playing loud when the sun comes out next (or even when it’s raining as it will cheer you up). Good stuff Will!

Around the world for free

A big shout to Doctor Strangedub and DJ Baby Swiss from KFAI’s Echo Chamber and everybody at Dan Dada records for including the track African Bass, a collaboration from our goodselves here at weeds Madtone, Audiovert our good mate Paul G from Melbourne (whose garden was featured last year here) on the excellent compilation Echo Chamber –  Around The World In Dub Vol 7 & 8 out now.

Around the world

It’s a free download which includes 26 tracks from around the dub globe including Ancient Astronauts, Tony Freebird ft Lee Scratch Perry, Trevor The Technician McKenzie, Secret Archives of the Vatican, DU3normal, Spectral Dub, Dusza, Bandulu Dub, Dubby Doo and The Mutant Frogs and a whole lot more dub. One for a Saturday night download!

A big ta to our good mate Will J for telling us about The Echo Chamber in the first place many moons ago!

Typically tropical

INI Movement – 13 Moon Cycle Mixes – El Búho (Self Existing Moon)

The heat in London yesterday was bonkers, hitting around the 35 degree mark during the day and come the late evening it was still nice and warm when the garden hose was set upon those parched plants out the back.

Talking of tropical, a big thanks to my good friend Will J for letting us know about this super mix, part of INI Movement’s 13 Mooncycle mix series where they invite an artist to curate a mix for the new moon. This installment is a lovely chilled affair from El Buho featuring some great stuff from all over the shop including the great Acid PauliNicola Cruz and a lot lot more and as it says on the soundcloud “El Buho has curated a flowing piece of music bathed in moonlight, fit for a dark, mysterious evening filled with hooting owls, swaying trees and tribal rhythms to dance around the fire (to).”

And it’s also a mix to blast out loud through the patio doors while you’re flaked out on a deck chair in the back garden with a glass of vino come late evening and one to complement Maria Thun’s Biodynamic Calendar (which I have regrettably haven’t been using of late due to being a bit lazy!)

Big shout to the sun and the moon as we’d be knackered without you!
