The birthplace of Michael Fish

We’ve just come back from a couple of days at the south coast. We had some alright weather at Eastbourne (above, looking towards the Holy Well, Beachy Head is around the corner and the cliffs above are where we met a character with a rucksack here the other year) but when we went to Brighton, it tipped it down and somehow with the constant rain, the town lost a bit of its sparkle.

This rainy weather is enough to send you into a downward spiral but spring will grace us soon with its presence. We’ve started off some seeds, the chillies that aren’t really doing that much from since the last time we looked but it’s only been a week, it’s just that time of year but we stuck some Moneymaker tomatoes and a couple of Quick Fire Chillies in pots with a freezer bag over the top on various windowsills. Fingers crossed!

Watering the garden early this morning just after we got up we noticed some great sights before it started to get hot. The echinops are now starting to flower and what flowers they are too.

We also now think these are the cosmos not the love in the mist that are beside them, the leaves are similar but not exactly the same. Shouldn’t be too long now before they flower (Cheers Debby H!)

And we are sure now that these are the Thompson & Morgan‘s Quick Fire chillies. It’s only a small plant but they sure are producing a lot of fruit! We also think beside this (not pictured) is their Quick Snack cucumbers. Ain’t gardening great?

Cheers to Gerry Hectic for sharing this very nice mix from Alina Bzhezhinska and Tulshi called Whispers of Rain (Continuous Mix) and boy wouldn’t it be nice to have some whispers of rain this week?
