Weeds up to me knees is a blog about music, gardening & life from “One Deck” Pete Madtone. Pete was introduced into horticulture at a young age but when as a teenager he discovered punk rook so went into denial.

It was later when he moved to London in his mid-twenties and worked as a council gardener at Westminster Council he reacquainted himself with the pleasures of the hobby plus learning the art of how to stand with one foot on a garden fork, stare into space and meditate on life instead of over-working.

Pete’s career has changed a couple of times since then but there’s still a glue that holds his life together which is making music out of shortwave radio recordings, sowing flower seeds in his garden by his anarchic “Chuck them anywhere” method and trawling through record boxes in 2nd hand shops looking for 1970’s scratched reggae singles.

The blog welcomes contributions, which can be pictures and stories from people’s own back gardens or anything you reckon that may make us smile here and we’re also up for seeds if anyone are up for sending us some (we’ll give you a plug and an up-to-date report!)
